Astrology is a group of systems, traditions and beliefs by which astrologers acquire information about a person’s personality, strengths and weaknesses. The zodiac is the belt or band of constellations through which the sun, moon and planets transit across the sky. Astrologers noted these constellations and so attached a particular significance to them. The main traditions used by modern astrologers are Western, Chinese and Indian astrology. Indian and Western versions use an astrological chart or horoscope for an event based on the position of the sun, moon and planets at the moment of the event. Indian astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, linking the signs of the zodiac to their original constellations, while Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac.

Practitioners of astrology believe that the positions of the planets affect nearly every aspect of a person’s life. Each planet is associated with a sign and a different energy in life. It assigns meaning to each unique time so that we can understand its special significance in our lives and act accordingly. Astrologers gauge timing based on knowledge of how planets act when traveling through the different zodiac signs. This is from where the idea that astrologers can predict the future is derived. The term zodiac denotes an annual cycle of twelve stations along the ecliptic, the apparent path of the sun across the heavens through the constellations that divide the ecliptic into twelve equal zones of celestial longitude. The zodiac is the first known celestial coordinate system. The sign that a person is born under in believed to determine their personality traits. For instance, people born under the astrological sign of Scorpio are believed to be forceful, intuitive and passionate while someone who is a Pisces is supposed to be sensitive, kind and unworldly.

Astrology is not meant to predict the future. Instead, individuals are supposed to use the information provided by the heavens to make good decisions about their life. The outcome of one’s fate is still a matter of personal choice. While astrology may seem implausible to some people, others truly believe that their destiny is written in the stars.

A rather gentle man seems about 25 year old came to me for a reading. He looked at me and then at the deck of cards and asked “When will I get a job?”

The beautiful thing about the planets and the cards is that they can tell us the planetary position is favourable or the time is right for us to move in a certain direction. Our lives can not be ruled by the cards. Nor can they type out resumes or set interviews for us. At the end of the day, we have to help ourselves if we want to get ahead.

• Hypnosis: Is where someone goes into a a trance like state; a state in which they have a heightened suggestibility and do not have the ability to think logically. In this state the subconscious mind can be better accessed. This is usually done with hypnotic commands, the tone of your voice and the use of subtle suggestions which ease you into state of trance.
• Subliminal Messaging: Is also a means to access the subconscious mind and bypasses your critical thinking function. The lines are a little blurry, and it is actually a term which means different things to different people.

The correct definition of subliminal hypnosis is a situation where you enter a mini trance state without your knowledge.e. you enter it subliminally. This might sound weird but we are continously go in and out of trance states all day long – when reading, writing, exercising riding the bus etc.

A  common example is watching television. We become engrossed in the tv and enter a type of trance. We are unaware of our surroundings to an extent, and if we are particularly engrossed we may not properly register a question we are asked in real life, or there might be a delay in our response.

Also typically tv advertisements are generally louder than the show which you were just watching – this takes you out of your trance, and gets your attention on the advert. Then, with various techniques of music, flashes, and sounds put youstraight into another state of trance – in this suggestable, trance like state the advert will have a much better chance of sinking in.

However, with the increase in popularity of hypnotherapy and subliminals the term is now used to refer to either traditional hypnosis or subliminal messaging. This is not technically correct, and can be a little confusing.

A basic definition of subliminal messaging is any sound which transmitted beyond a level of 20,000 Hz. This is the upper level of human hearing capacity; any sounds won’t be heard by your conscious hearing. However your unconscious mind can pickup on these messages. It’s always working – taking in information from your immediate environment. Like it or not there will always be suggestions stored in your subconscious mind which you are not aware of.

Usually these messages are forgotten eventually, however if you are constantly receiving the same messages over and over day in day then they start to build and spill into your reality, into your conscious mind and influence your beliefs and your behaviour.

Now that you understand the gist of all of that, it’s time to begin your hypnosis training. There are several ways in which you may learn the art of hypnosis. It is best if you look into any books, magazines, articles, or other material that you possibly can that speaks about hypnosis. There is also lots of great material available online.

Take all of the hypnosis training classes that you can. These classes could be classes you take in person or they could be through a DVD series. Either way you have to make sure that you are getting all of the information you need in order to have your best shot at making yourself a success once you learn hypnosis. As you start learning all of the things you have to do, you will want to practice them. Once you have gained enough knowledge about hynosis, you may notice that people will begin to ask you to teach them. Although it will take a lenghty amount of time for you to become an expert in hypnosis, that doesn’t mean that you cannot help others learn the craft.

Hypnosis training also means taking the advice and instruction from those who are already practicing it themselves. This could be a way others might want to learn too. It is important that you make sure you try to stick with the facts so there is not too much confusion for them when they start to learn also.

Despite how overwhelming training in hypnosis may appear, the skills and gifts you will learn are worth it.  They will allow you to help others and your self in difficult situations.  In addition, once you obtain recognized qualifications, you have the opportunity to start your own practice.

If I was to say ‘Oh look, you are about to experience a transformation in your life’ how would you feel? If you simply saw the Death card as your outcome card,would you are spooked?

I am in the process of creating the Lotus Tarot deck and I will be naming this card ‘Transformation’ because I believe it portrays the true meaning of this card far better and without evoking the chills that the title ‘Death’ card does.

When the ‘Death’ card appears in a reading, the most common thought is that it is predicting a physical death, that someone is going to die. Cases is highly unlikely,this, in most, if not all.
